Singer Carly Simon’s talented older sisters Lucy and Joanna died of cancer this week, one day apart, Deadline reported.
Joanna Simon, 85, was an opera singer, an arts correspondent for PBS, and the companion of CBS newsman Walter Cronkite; she died from thyroid cancer on Wednesday. Lucy Simon, 82, was Carly’s first singing partner before becoming a solo artist and Broadway composer; she died Thursday of breast cancer.
