Yankees starter Carlos Rodon isn’t going to win over many Yankees fans after Wednesday’s outing.

The Yankees had been trailing 4-0 when he made the motion toward the stands and were down 6-0 by the time Rodon, 30, exited. The Yankees signed Rodon to a six-year, $162 million contract in December, but his debut was delayed until July 7 due to a forearm strain and then back tightness. Rodon’s first two starts of the year since coming off the injured list hadn’t gone quite his way either.

He has lost both outings to begin his Yankee tenure, allowing six earned runs in his first 10 1/3 innings before Wednesday’s poor start. The Yankees as a team aren’t playing much better after the All-Star break, having dropped five of their last six games. The Yankees had entered Wednesday’s game in sole possession of last place in the American League East and three games back for the final wild card spot.
