As detailed in the video, Duncan was tasked with directing Corden and three other British celebrities — Freddie Flintoff, Jamie Redknapp and Jack Whitehall — for an episode of the show, which depicted them competing in a “MasteChef”-style cooking challenge.
Duncan said he was asked to view a rehearsal of the show to become more familiar with Corden’s style. During the run-through, he said that the host became annoyed by a joke he was supposed to read from a card. At one point, it became clear to Duncan that he and his crew would only have five minutes to film a climatic scene in which the winner of the contest is announced. As Duncan and the crew were working out camera angles, Corden arrived on the set, demanding “What the is going on here? It’s obvious what you do. It’s so obvious how you shoot it, you’re stupid.”
