In Renton, where Boeing builds its 737-MAX aircraft, striking workers are about to enter their sixth week without getting paid. "Businesses that rely on tips and discretionary spending, such as service industries and restaurants, are reporting significant declines in both traffic and tips," Dobson said.
Dobson said she hopes people in the community will help supplement some of the lost business for shops and restaurants that are impacted.
