Pantera's 2023 reunion tour comes a decade after the band broke up in 2003 and seven years after frontman Phil Anselmo was recorded throwing up a Nazi salute onstage and shouting"white power!" at a 2016 concert in Los Angeles., Anselmo then commented in response to the incident:"Some of y'all need to thicken up your skin. There's plenty of f–ers to pick on with a more realistic agenda. I f–ing love everyone, I f–ing loathe everyone, and that's that.
The band is now attempting to make a comeback, but the organizers of several of this year's planned performances have removed the band from festival lineups, presumably due to the controversy surrounding them.reported that the band was removed from two German music festivals and replaced by Foo Fighters as headliners. Organizers of the festivals said the decision came after"many intensive conversations" with artists, sponsors and fans.
