The cost of food is on the rise, especially because of inflation. But, there is a program that could help some people by providing hundreds of dollars for fresh food.

“Thanks to this program I've been able to purchase more food especially since its price has gone up in price so I’m very grateful to this,” Villafam said.

CalOptima has joined in to spread the word that individuals making $18,000 a year or less or families of four making no more than $38,000 can likely qualify. “If they don’t have food on the table they’re not thinking about other things like going to the doctor. Or kids, how can they focus on their studies if they don’t have food on the table?
