The founder of BuzzBallz, Merrilee Kick, gave the largest donation in history to her alma mater, Texas Woman’s University.
The founder and CEO of cocktail maker BuzzBallz donated $30 million to Texas Woman’s University, the largest donation in the college’s history. Before Merrilee Kick was mixing up cocktails, she was a teacher getting her master’s at the Texas Woman’s University’s College of Business. In fact, her capstone project was the beginning of the business plan for BuzzBallz and parent company Southern Champion .
Now she’s giving back to other budding business owners with the $30 million donation, which will fund an innovation and entrepreneurship institute, an endowed chair and an entrepreneur-in-residence program. All three will be named after Kick. Plans to construct a building for the business college also will be supported by Kick’s donation. “As a former educator and child of educators, teaching the next generation is important for our future.
