Unique Chiron becomes most valuable new car ever at sold at auction 🤑
, tone it down just a tad, paint it a spectacular two-tone of Argent Atlantique/Bugatti Bleu Royal et voila - another hypercar icon. No wonder so many wanted to buy one having been introduced to the idea.
Just the one Profilée was made, though, and it’s gone under the hammer at RM Sotheby’s Paris auction for, well, almost 10 million euros. €9,792,500, to be exact, including the buyer’s premium. Not only is that more than double the pre-auction low estimate of €4.2m, but the Chiron has now become the most valuable new car ever sold at auction. Predictably enough, it’s one of the priciest Bugattis sold this way, too.
Obviously, the identity of the successful bidder hasn’t been disclosed; given the significance of this Bugatti - to say nothing of its value - the Chiron seems unlikely to be seen anywhere other than perfectly manicured lawns for the foreseeable. A pity given how spectacular it looks, if understandable - let’s see. And if the Profilée has you also in the mood for an 8.
