The Browns have restructured Deshaun Watson's contract for the third straight year, converting $44.79 million into a bonus.
CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The Browns have borrowed from Peter to pay Paul again, restructuring Deshaun Watson’s massive contract for the third straight year, a league source told cleveland.com.
Watson, who’s gone 8-4 in his 12 starts over the past two seasons, is in the third year of his fully-guaranteed $230 million contract that averages $46 million a year. The full guarantee rankled other NFL owners, including Baltimore’s Steve Bisciotti, who railed against it publicly for the precedent it might set.
Tagovailoa signed a four-year deal worth $212 million for a yearly average of $53.1 million, and Love inked a four-year deal worth $220 million for an average of $55 million. That ties him with Burrow and Trevor Lawrence, who signed his new deal in June.
