The former Auburn signal-caller is seeking to earn the spot as Denver’s starting quarterback.
Jarrett Stidham The Broncos had obtained Wilson in a blockbuster trade with the Seattle Seahawks in 2022 and signed the nine-time Pro Bowler to a five-year, $245 million contract. In 2023, Stidham’s first season in Denver, his competitive push was solely to nail down the backup spot.
Zach Wilson entered the NFL as the second player picked in the 2021 draft and started 33 games for the Jets. A former Pinson Valley High School and Auburn standout, Nix started 61 college games on his way to the NFL.he’d “never been around a team that has this many guys so close,” but that doesn’t impede his drive to win the quarterback job.. “If you don’t have competition, in my opinion, in each room, then what are you doing? I think that’s a really healthy thing. And it’s one of those things.
In 16 NFL games, with four starts, Stidham has completed 117-of-197 passes for 1,422 yards with eight touchdowns and eight interceptions and run for 97 yards on 32 carries.
