The speedy Broncos wide receiver was placed on injured reserve Tuesday after a meniscus injury suffered Saturday against San Francisco that requires surgery to repair, the team announced.
Dr. Clint Soppe, an orthopedic surgeon at Cedars-Sinai Kerlan-Jobe Institute in Los Angeles, said the recovery timeline for meniscus surgery can take up to 4-6 months if the meniscus needs to be repaired. Given where the Broncos are in the calendar, that essentially constitutes the entire season, hence the move to injured reserve for Virgil.Saturday against San Francisco
