Bridgeland defeated Tomball Memorial to earn its first playoff win in program history.

Bridgeland defeated Tomball Memorial 4-1 to earn its first playoff win in program history in the Region II-6A bi-district round game Friday night at Cy-Fair FCU Stadium.While Bridgeland has dropped just one district game over the past three seasons, the Bears have experienced nothing but disappointment in the playoffs.

Sophomore forward Maddy Benker and junior forward Anaiyah Robinson scored two goals in a span of three minutes in the first half, Robinson later added two more, and Bridgeland defeated Tomball Memorial 4-1 to earn its first playoff win in program history in the Region II-6A bi-district round game Friday night at Cy-Fair FCU Stadium.

“There is no other group of young ladies that I would want to go into battle with than that group standing over there,” Bridgeland coach Katie Bourgeois said. “We knew what we wanted to do coming into this, we knew the pressure that was on us, we rose to the moment. We finally won our first playoff game ever.Bridgeland, which opened in 2017, captured its third District 16-6A championship in as many years under second-year coach Bourgeois.
