Fort Myers is the fourth Florida destination that Breeze flies to from Northeast Ohio.
With the Fort Myers addition, Breeze will fly to seven destinations from Akron-Canton: Orlando, Tampa and West Palm Beach in Florida; plus Norfolk, Virginia; Charleston, S.C.; and Las Vegas.
The CAK addition was part of a larger announcement from Breeze, a new leisure-focused carrier founded in 2021. The airline now serves 35 airports across the U.S., mostly in cities underserved by air service. “We’re thrilled that Breeze Airways is reintroducing nonstop service to Fort Myers, a beloved destination for Northeast Ohio residents,” said Lisa Dalpiaz, vice president of air service and business development at Akron-Canton Airport.
Spirit Airlines previously flew to Southwest Florida International Airport in Fort Myers from Akron-Canton, butAllegiant Air, another low-cost, leisure-focused carrier, flies from Akron-Canton to Punta Gorda Airport, which is just north of Fort Myers.The new CAK-Fort Myers flight will depart from Akron-Canton at 10:40 a.m., landing in Fort Myers at 1:25 p.m. The return flight will leave Fort Myers at 7:15 a.m., landing at Akron-Canton at 10 a.m.
