After missing out on Max Scherzer, the Atlanta Braves are reportedly interested in signing Nick Pivetta from the Boston Red Sox. Pivetta could fill the void left by Charlie Morton and Max Fried, providing depth to the Braves' pitching rotation.
The Atlanta Braves were rumored to be among the favorites to land Max Scherzer , but Scherzer ended up signing a deal with the Toronto Blue Jays. With Atlanta seeing both Charlie Morton and Max Fried part ways with the franchise this winter, the Braves could have used a pitcher like Scherzer. But with him off the board, Atlanta is going to need to pursue a different free agent starter.FanSided's Cody Williams recently linked the Braves to Boston Red Sox free agent pitcher Nick Pivetta .

The Braves have done an overall excellent job in developing pitchers and getting the best out of them in many capacities. Depending on the price tag for Pivetta, that could absolutely be a worthwhile risk for Atlanta, especially when only inserting him into the back end of this rotation.
