After taking commissions as an artist while he searched for his next football opportunity, linebacker Jordan Williams has been thriving with San Antonio.
After wrapping up a four-year career at Baylor in 2019, Williams’ effort to transition to pro football was thrown for a loop by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Ward said Williams “on paper was the odd-man out” as the Brahmas prepared to cut to 51-player rosters by the end of training camp. He felt his play improve as he developed a better understanding of San Antonio’s defense and opposing passing concepts, but he also pointed to the “reality check” he received in a conversation with the Brahmas coaches, who challenged him to “play for something bigger” than just a spot in the XFL.
