Julian Cauvin scored the golden goal just a minute and a half into OT as Montclair upset No. 2 Seton Hall Prep.

Cauvin knew that he hadn’t taken a shot all game. But he also knew that he had the game on his foot and couldn’t miss. As his shot began to bend to the right and into the upper 90 corner of goal, everyone seemed to pause, and then there was a sudden explosion of emotion as Cauvin’s shot hit the back of the net.

With Seton Hall Prep visiting, Montclair knew that it had the opportunity to put themselves back on the map and give itself another push in the right direction as this season continues to move forward. Rutgers commit Eddie Krupski scored at the 14:41 mark to tie the game, and then followed up seven minutes later by scoring on the rush to give the Pirates a 2-1 lead after Montclair had sent nearly everyone forward on a set piece opportunity.

The Mounties got back on the rush and got the ball up the wings up the field, which opened up Cauvin in the middle. With under five minutes left Cauvin found himself streaking into the box with the ball at his feet but was taken down and earned Montclair a penalty shot.
