The civil lawsuit alleged Dwight Howard committed sexual assault and battery during a July 2021 meeting at Howard’s Georgia residence.
Stephen Harper filed the lawsuit in July 2023 before dismissing the case with prejudice Monday in Gwinnett County Court , meaning he cannot again sue Howard on those allegations, per the report.Howard denied injuring Harper, along with saying he did not cause any “intentional infliction of emotional distress” or “false imprisonment,” during what he described in the court documents as a “consensual sexual activity.” He asked the courts to dismiss the allegations.
Harper’s camp later countered in January that the lawsuit had “nothing to do with unrequited love” and implored the judge to not let Howard “to escape the consequences of his actions.”He won three consecutive Defensive Player of the Year Awards from 2009-11 and made eight straight All-Star teams from 2007-14.
