Body-camera footage reveals the events leading to a San Marcos police officer fatally shooting a 22-year-old man in April. Earlier this week, a grand jury decli

**VIEWER DISCRETION IS ADVISED**The incident began when police received a 911 call at 9:32 p.m. from two victims who reported being threatened with knives. The victims, who are related, said an unknown man followed them from a convenience store, causing alarm.

At 10:35 p.m., Officer Ventura spotted Williams at the same convenience store. The body-worn camera footage shows Williams speaking with police inside the store. When asked to put his hands behind his back, Williams responded, "I thought we were cool, bro," and did not comply.Ventura pursued Williams on foot, attempting to use his taser twice without success. Standridge said Williams armed himself with two knives during the chase. Ventura then holstered his taser and drew his firearm.

The chase ended in the H-E-B parking lot where Ventura fired his weapon, striking Williams. The footage shows Williams collapsing, with Ventura reporting shots fired and requesting EMS over his radio. Standridge said the grand jury reviewed the evidence and found Ventura's actions justified under Texas law.
