Better Call Saul star Bob Odenkirk is taking on Tommy Wiseau's Johnny role in a full-length green screen remake of The Room (and it's for charity).
Bob Odenkirk is playing the Tommy Wiseau role in a full-length remake of The Room. Wiseau achieved infamy with his 2003 film The Room, an attempt at an intensely heavy drama that was received as an unintentional comedy, and went on to be regarded as one of the worst films ever made. Bad as The Room may be, it holds enough fascination that it still plays in midnight screenings.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY Now another actor is ready to take on the challenge of following Wiseau, as Better Call Saul star Odenkirk is doing his own version of The Room. As reported by /Film, Odenkirk plays the Wiseau character Johnny in a full green-screen remake. Made by the organization Acting for a Cause, the film will benefit amfAR, The Foundation for AIDS Research. Odenkirk himself just took to social media to confirm that he starred in the strange but worthy project, and indeed took it entirely seriously, saying:

And let me tell you, I tried my best to SELL every line, as honestly as I could...and I had a BLAST.The Room Continues To Fascinate After 20 Years Franco’s Disaster Artist movie was more than just a meta-film stunt, but seemed like a genuine attempt to reckon with the whole phenomenon of The Room, a movie that in some ways is objectively bad, but is nevertheless fascinating to watch.
That Odenkirk would sign on to channel Wiseau in a full remake of The Room is just more testament to the film’s continued resonance as the ultimate cult movie. However, Odenkirk makes it clear that he isn’t just making fun of the film, and did in fact try to sell every line as honestly as he could.
