That’s far from egregious, but 22-year-old Islam Aslanov reportedly started to accelerate when the deputy approached. The footage apparently picks up from there as we can see the M4 take a commanding lead as the deputy calls it in.The car is barely visible for much of the chase, but the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office said Aslanov was going 70 mph in a 35 mph zone and hit speeds in excess of 100 mph once he got on Buford Highway.
The chase then comes to an end as the man gives up and sticks his hands out the window. The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office says Aslanov was charged with fleeing/attempting to elude, speeding, reckless driving, and failure to dim lights. They added that when asked why he ran, Aslanov said he “freaked out when he saw the deputy behind him.”
