Police did not say whether the suspect fired his weapon at the store, or what led police to fire shots.

Interim police Chief Michael Pickett said the shots were fired just before 5 p.m. at the Montgomery Grocery in the 3100 block of 33rd Terrace North.

Once they got to the first location - a church parking lot - the suspect had already left. Witnesses provided North Precinct officers with the description of the suspect and his car.“As officers approached the vehicle and attempted to engage the suspect to investigate what was going, shots were fired,’' Pickett said, “which resulted in the suspect being injured.”
