HelloTomorrow stars Billy Crudup & nicholaspodany discuss their father-son dynamic and how they act opposite retro-futuristic robots in the new appletvplus dramedy:
Everybody's selling something, but it's not usually a house on the moon. Hello Tomorrow!, Apple TV+'s latest dramedy, centers on a group of salesmen living in a futuristic version of the 1950s who are offering consumers a fresh start and a lunar residency. The four episodes are directed by Jonathan Entwistle , who beautifully captures the aesthetics of the world crafted by first-time showrunners Amit Bhalla and Lucas Jansen.
Billy Crudup: Oh, sure. Listen, he was in acting school just like I was in acting school. And I remember when I was first starting out, the experience of being introduced to a new professional environment is exciting. It's nerve-wracking. And Nick is obviously enormously talented and capable. He's up for the role, but he was also incredibly capable of managing the moment.
I guess coming on and seeing all of the effects were practical? First of all, on film that's so exciting because that means that you are that much more immersed in the world. If you forget about the people dressed in all green controlling the arms, of course. There were a few noisy moments but nothing that took me out necessarily.
