Tens of thousands of workers are walking out today in what has been described as the biggest day of industrial action in over a decade.
Downing Street has conceded that Wednesday’s mass strike action will be “very difficult”. However the Prime Minister's spokesman said the Government wanted to see "negotiations rather than picket lines".The PM's official spokesman said: "We know that there will be significant disruption given the scale of the strike action that is taking place tomorrow and that will be very difficult for the public trying to go about their daily lives.
He added: "That’s a very big conscious decision to make, to join us at this moment. If I was the Government, I’d be worried about that."
