Big Walnut Middle School's eighth-grade boys' basketball team manager Grant Andreas had a night to remember.
Grant was invited to see Coach Myers during school if he was interested. He was at Myers' classroom door before the first bell rang the next morning.Grant attends practices with the team every day and jumps into drills whenever he can, especially shooting drills. He loves to shoot the ball, almost as much as he loves wearing the team gear.
His teammates started asking their Coach if they could get him into a game at some point during the regular season. This brings us to Tuesday evening. With about three minutes to go in the game, a timeout was called, and Myers' team had Grant sit on the bench with his warmup off to send their coach a very old and clear message, they wanted Grant in the game.Grant took to the court with time winding down and scored the first basket of his career, a beautiful shot from just inside the 3-point line.
