Since its creation 55 years ago, the burger has been rolled out at more than 38,000 McDonald’s around the world — with the Big Mac eventually becoming a point of interest for economists.The Big Mac Index, created in 1986 by The Economist, stands as a way to measure whether currencies around the world are at their “correct” level, using the price of a Big Mac in the US as a point of comparison.
