New Tesla electric vehicles fill the car lot at the Tesla retail location in Smithtown, NY on July 5, 2023. This location is one of five Tesla-owned centers throughout the state. on what kind of car you’d like to drive, worry no more. President Joe Biden and the far left running the Environmental Protection Agency are going to make that decision for you, whether you like it or not.

What the EPA is doing here is part-and-parcel of the far left’s goal of getting rid of the traditional cars and trucks that most Americans prefer. The electric grid won’t possibly be able to handle the extra demands this rule would entail. Blackouts and brownouts would be the new normal. Rationing of electricity would come, especially as the EPA is simultaneously in the process of shutting down all coal-fired power plants and making the construction of new natural gas-powered facilities a virtual impossibility.

That day may be coming soon. When the EPA’s rule first came out, the Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research and the Energy Policy Institute at the University of Chicago conducted a poll and found that only 19% of U.S. adults say it’s “very” or “extremely” likely they would purchase an electric vehicle the next time they buy a car.

The answer is that the EPA doesn’t care about the actual obstacles or adverse results. Perverse ideology trumps all. It’s operating in an extremist, cult-like bubble in which it places its own perverse priorities above the good of the American people and willfully ignores the realities of generating and transmitting electricity.
