“When David Bowie passed away in 2016, there was a desire to show some of the unseen work from that [] album cover session in 2001,” Klinko says. “That is what really started my journey into the gallery and museum world.”
The new direction has given him more freedom in choosing projects, Klinko says. Still, he has stuck close to the style he honed in the 2000s. “I am serving up a mirror image to our society,” Klinko says. “My role as a documentarian of pop culture, as an observer, is reflecting back to society what’s going on.”
