The comment about his wife was not the only joke the democratic presidential candidate cracked on his campaign trail. O’Rourke touched on the topic of family again on Friday, admitting he had been surprised by his kids offering “unsolicited” advice about running for president.“But I think they're just as sensitive to what's going on in the world right now. They understand that they will inherit the consequences of the choices that you and I make at this moment. And they're counting on us to make the right ones.
Former Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper, ex-San Antonio Mayor Julian Castro, Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, former Rep. John Delaney and Washington Governor Jay Inslee are also in the race.
