, Our Revolution, will host a town hall on Monday looking to stall the American Israel Public Affairs Committee’s efforts to fund elections across the country., Jamaal Bowman , and Pramila Jayapal , among others. The event will aim to “shore up defenses against well-funded corporate lobbyists.”On Monday, we’re bringing together champions from across the country, fighting to defend & expand the biggest Progressive Caucus in history.
AIPAC is expected to donate toward election candidates and challengers in races who favor Israeli interests, likely steering away from the progressive side of the Democratic Party, which has criticized the actions of Israel since Oct. 7 harshly. Our Revolution said AIPAC is “targeting some of our most ardent advocates for peace in Congress.” In one example, it cites AIPAC’s endorsement of Bowman’s primary challenger, George Latimer, and $600,000AIPAC has received nearly $32 million in contributions and doled out about $28.5 million to committees since the start of 2023,
“We are proud to engage in the democratic process to help elect pro-Israel candidates, and we will not be deterred by an extremist, anti-Israel fringe,” AIPAC said in a statement to Fox News. “We believe that it is entirely consistent with progressive values to stand with the Jewish state as it confronts aggression from Iran and its terrorist proxies.”
