The new season of the Bravo series kicked off on Monday night with a slew of new and returning faces.
As for the new crew joining Below Deck Med season 8, there are several new faces in the franchises. Those crew members included Ruan, Chef Jack Luby, Stews Jessika Asai and Brooke Booney, and Deckhands Lara Du Preez and Haleigh Gorman. However, with Ruan gone as bosun, Luka has to step in temporarily, and it will likely be for longer than Captain Sandy Yawn or Luka had hoped.
Not only did Below Deck Med's Ruan not bring his original copies, but his Yachtmasters seemed to be forged. When Sandy went to scan the document, another person's photo popped up, not Ruan's. This was another red flag for Sandy, so she called Ruan in to explain. He said, "On one of the boats because the ticket expired, we needed to get a ticket done quickly. A guy came on the boat and he issued us our tickets.
Ruan Decided To Officially Leave The Yacht By The End Of Episode 1 When Ruan first left the boat, he had every intention of returning. He even told his deckhand that this was temporary and would likely be back as soon as possible. However, later in the episode, Ruan gives Sandy a call and tells her that he will not be returning to the boat. "Sorry about this captain but I don’t think I am going to get the ticket sorted in time.
Ruan's paperwork issues on Below Deck Mediterranean made quite a splash in the first episode. Even though he will likely never be seen on the show again, it made for an interesting start to the season. Hopefully, the rest of the season will be smooth sailing for Sandy and the crew.
