Wanting to remove Barbatos' influence over him, Batman tries to go back in time and stop Barbatos from ever learning about him. To go back in time, Batman steals a baby version of Darkseid and outfits him with a pair of Godwave Goggles that prevents him from using his Omega Effect at will. Batman intended to use baby Darkseid as a way to travel through time, which implies he had control over him.
