Chuck the Duck, who serves as the mascot for Hall Quarry Beach in Batavia, will again be joined by the Easter bunny this year during the Batavia Park District’s annual Egg Dash program, where up to 50 homes will be visited by the duo who will hide Easter eggs and drop off gifts at the door. The Batavia Park District will once again offer its annual Egg Dash program, which includes a drop-off of Easter candy, toys, gift certificates and other items to 50 homes in the district on March 27.
“People love it. Their kids get so excited and one of the things we think is fun is that some people will register for this and give it to their neighbors as a surprise,” Burgess said. “Each year Egg Dash has a limit of 50 houses and we always fill our registrations.” “We deliver packages to 50 home and all of them are the same,” she said. “The popularity has been continued because of the novelty that the Easter bunny comes to your house and it’s also exceptionally inclusive. Some of the large community egg hunts may be difficult for children with sensory issues and so this allows those children to interact with the Easter bunny and to have a search and to have that spectacle that so many feel is a part of childhood.
