That aggression produced a 5-4 victory against Brackenridge in the bottom of the seventh inning on a double steal with runners on first and third in the district opener on Feb. 28. During the second half of play, the Brahmas avenged their only district loss with a 3-1 victory over Alamo Heights on April 25 that secured the district lead with one game remaining. MacArthur sealed the league title two days later when it defeated Highlands 15-0 and the Mules lost 9-2 against Brackenridge.
Junior outfielder Michael Murach is the team’s top hitter . Senior second baseman Gabe Carruth and senior shortstop Logan Ledesma are solid fielders, and sophomore catcher Ben Salazar provides valuable leadership, Medina said. The seeds are important as the second seed has a more difficult path through the Region IV-6A bracket.
