EL SEGUNDO, Calif. – Toy manufacturer Mattel introduced the first-ever Barbie doll representing a person with Down syndrome in an effort to “counter social stigma through play,” the company announced Tuesday.
The Down syndrome Barbie was released as part of the 2023 Barbie Fashionistas lineup, and is available for $10.99 both online now and in stores later this year, though Mattel notes quantities are limited.
