Baltimore Ravens wide receiver De'Anthony Thomas is opting out of the 2020 NFL season, becoming the second player to sit out amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The Ravens announced on Monday that Thomas had been added to the reserve list as a voluntary opt-out. Thomas, 27, signed a one-year, $935,000 deal with the Ravens this offseason. After voluntarily opting out, he will receive $150,000 in salary advance and his contract will toll. Thomas joined the Ravens last November after being cut by the Kansas City Chiefs and became the team's kick and punt returner.

James Proche, a sixth-round rookie wide receiver from SMU, is the leading candidate to take over the returner role.
