Stephen Lang hypes up Avatar 2 as something that surpasses the original movie. 'It is amazing. There's no question about it. I mean, I've never seen anything like it and I've seen Avatar.'

Avatar: The Way of Water star Stephen Lang hypes the sequel's amazing visuals and how they surpass James Cameron's original film. Released in 2009, Avatar would go on to become the highest-grossing movie of all time. The film followed marine Jake Sully as he integrated with a tribe of the indigenous inhabitants of an alien moon called Pandora to fight off a force of human invaders.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY Cameron is set to release four sequels to Avatar, the first of which, Avatar: The Way of Water, is due out later this year. The sequel features the return of Worthington, Lang, Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver, and Giovanni Ribisi, in addition to introducing a host of new characters played by the likes of Kate Winslet, Michelle Yeoh, Bailey Bass, Jemaine Clement, and Cliff Curtis, among others.

"I have seen a lot of Avatar 2. It is amazing. There's no question about it. I mean, I've never seen anything like it and I've seen Avatar. It's pretty out there, it's beautiful. Aside from the fact that it's absolutely gorgeous to look at and everything like that, it's just such a humane film. There's so much heart and feeling and passion in the movie that I think it's going to have a very, very broad appeal.

Why The Way Of Water Will Look Different From The First Avatar Much as he did for the first Avatar, Cameron has spent years working with various companies to fine-tune and enhance the technology that will bring the beautiful environment and inhabitants of Pandora to life for the sequel. Cameron once again champions the 3D format for Avatar: The Way of Water, using specially-made cameras to bring the water-heavy environments to life.

It's not just the technology that's improved, however, but Cameron has also put a large emphasis on filming his actors in actual water environments for the Avatar sequel. Winslet, Worthington, Saldana, and other stars are said to have learned to hold their breath for extremely long periods of time in order to film intricate underwater sequences while wearing motion capture suits.
