A new fire, the Auto Fire, broke out in Ventura County, California on Monday night, adding to the devastation caused by a week-long series of wildfires. The blaze has burned 56 acres and prompted mandatory evacuations. This latest fire comes as firefighters continue to battle three major fires in Los Angeles County: the Hurst, Palisades, and Eaton fires. The death toll from the fires has reached 21, with 16 fatalities attributed to the Eaton Fire and five to the Palisades Fire.

The newest blaze came as firefighters struggled to control other blazes that broke out a week ago across Los Angeles County. The two largest fires, the Palisades and Eaton fires, remained largely uncontained. The Hurst Fire north of Los Angeles was 97% contained, Cal Fire said.
