Almost 822,000 Oncor customers in Dallas County lost power due to high winds and rain in late May, according to the utility company.

City sanitation officials say they are still cleaning up debris from the May storm and hope to finish sometime in August. Crews are making a second run through neighborhoods that may cleared. They said they’ve collected around 500,000 cubic yards of trash caused by the storm as of mid-July.Officials also want to make a dent in clean-up through a trash collection event set for Saturday from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. at.
“We recognize timely and accurate communication is critical, especially during events such as this major storm,” Piloto said. “We are working to make enhancements to our customer and cities messaging and communication channels so that we can provide more information as restoration progresses.”
