The Austin City Council will vote Thursday on Austin Energy’s plan to meet the city’s growing energy needs through 2035.
Lisa says the 2035 plan calls for new investments to keep up with customer growth and surging demand. The Texas Chapter of the Sierra Club says more gas peaker units should only be added into the mix IF local solar and utility-scale batteries are unable to meet Austin Energy’s needs.
