The individual’s boat had capsized near 2800 East Reservoir Dam Road, landing them in the water.
Aurora Fire Rescue employees began providing medical aid to the patient after the rangers got the person to the shoreline. The South Metro Rescue dive team was also at the reservoir to make sure no other person had fallen in the water,

The residents around the Valle de Bravo dam had protested against the capital city's water extraction from the lake.
