Auburn Tigers football team appoints TJ Rushing as their new safeties coach.
Auburn has promoted former special assistant to the head coach TJ Rushing to be its next safeties coach following the departure of Charles Kelly. Rushing joined Auburn in 2024 after eight seasons as either a cornerbacks coach or defensive backs coach at four different schools. His most recent role was defensive backs coach at Texas A&M from 2020-2023, where he worked under defensive coordinator DJ Durkin. This reunion allows the defensive staff to retain some continuity.
Prior to Texas A&M, Rushing had stops at Arizona State, Northern Arizona, and Memphis
