‘Speedway Classic’ set for Aug. 2
Drivers make their way around Bristol Motor Speedway during a caution period in the NASCAR Xfinity Series auto race, Sept. 15, 2023, in Bristol, Tenn. The 146,000-seat track will host an MLB regular-season game between the Atlanta Braves and Cincinnati Reds next August, it was announced Friday.
“Major League Baseball is excited to deliver a special game at Bristol Motor Speedway, a unique setting that sports fans will remember forever,” MLB commissioner Rob Manfred said. “The Reds and the Braves form an ideal matchup because of their dynamic talent and the proximity of their markets.
The Braves and Reds are officially set to play a regular season game inside Bristol Motor Speedway on August 2, 2025“On behalf of the team at Bristol Motor Speedway and Speedway Motorsports, we are thrilled to partner with Major League Baseball to bring the Speedway Classic to the ‘Home of Big Events’ on Aug. 2, 2025,” said Jerry Caldwell, president of Bristol Motor Speedway.
