The Astros will play under an open Minute Maid Park roof for the first time this season when they face the San Francisco Giants on Tuesday night.
The roof is open for Game 2 of American League Championship Series between Houston Astros and New York Yankees Thursday, Oct. 20, 2022, at Minute Maid Park in Houston.
The Astros rarely drop the top on their stadium in the regular season, doing so just once last season. This game might be the only time they do it this regular season as well since it likely will be one of the last non-sweltering Houston nights for quite a while. Game time temperatures are expected to be in the mid-70s on Tuesday night.
Of course, the roof decision always is subject to change. Last month, the Astros announced the roof would be open for a game against the Rangers only to reverse course and decide to keep it shut hours before first pitch.
