Astros sign reliever Bryan Garcia to minor league deal with spring training invitation
Bryan Garcia, signed to a minor league deal by the Astros, has spent parts of four seasons in the majors with the Tigers.The Astros signed righthander Bryan Garcia to a minor league deal Tuesday that includes an invitation to major league spring training.
Garcia, a 27-year-old reliever, played parts of four major league seasons for the Detroit Tigers. Detroit drafted him in the sixth round in 2016. Garcia has a career 5.52 ERA in 88 major league innings. He made four starts last season for the Tigers, but his other 72 big league appearances are all out of the bullpen. Garcia had a 3.80 ERA and 1.301 WHIP in 85 ⅓ innings for Class AAA Toledo last season.
