The Cup Series heads to Nashville Superspeedway for the Ally 400 on Sunday afternoon.
DAVID MUNDEE When next spring rolls around, the Ashford High School Yellow Jackets will feature new faces in their sports leadership.
For Moman, it’s a return home. In addition to graduating from Ashford, he started his teaching career at the school as an intern in physical education under current girls basketball coach Terrence Thomas and also helped coach football. Moman takes over an Ashford program that finished 1-13 this past year. Starling and Holmes will join him on the coaching staff along with Brooks Glover and Bryce Hall .
Ashford jumps up to Class 4A this year, leaving a 3A area that featured three winning teams, including a state semifinal program and a 2023 state champion . Northside Methodist was the other team. The new area features Ashford with Dale County, Daleville, Geneva and Houston Academy. Prior to leading Rehobeth, he was an assistant varsity coach and the head coach of the Rehobeth Middle School team for four seasons.
Floyd remains as a football assistant coach, specializing in wide receivers, and as a U.S. History teacher at the school.
