San Jose police were set to remain on campus to conduct an investigation, but the department reported there was no active threat to the school.
A San Jose high school student was arrested on Wednesday afternoon after allegedly coming to school armed with a knife and a ghost gun.
San Jose Police Department officers were called to Willow Glen High School located at 2001 Cottle Ave. after two school resource officers arrested the student and found the weapons in his possession, the SJPD said in a tweet. San Jose police reported the student was taken into custody by the school officers after a brief foot chase. The firearm found on the boy was loaded, police said.
"Thanks to the quick actions of these on-campus school resource officers, this gun was seized and possibly prevented a tragic event from occurring," San Jose police said.San Jose police were set to remain on campus to conduct an investigation into the arrest and the boy's possession of the weapons, but the department reported there is no threat to Willow Glen High School.
