The city of Avon Lake announced the long-planned implosion of two boilers at the former Avon Lake Power Plant will go forward as planned Wednesday morning.
AVON LAKE, Ohio - The implosion at the old Avon Lake power plant occurred as planned Wednesday morning.The area around the power plant was determined to be safe and clear following the implosion, according to a city-wide alert sent out just after 6:30 a.m.
City representatives confirmed the Ohio EPA’s Air Division is aware of the planned implosion and will be present to monitor demolition activities themselves.
