Apple stock is heading for its 8th straight daily gain and a No. 1 market cap
Shares of Apple Inc. AAPL, +0.64% rose 0.5% toward a 5-month high in afternoon trade Friday, putting them on track for an 8th-straight gain. That would be the longest win streak for the technology behemoth's stock since the 9-day stretch ending Sept. 4, 2018. Apple is set to end the week as the largest U.S. company by market capitalization, with a market cap of $927.4 billion versus second-place Microsoft Corp.'s MSFT, +0.49% market cap of $919.2 billion.
