The iPhone is changing a key design element, a new report says.
has shared a new road map, behind a paywall, about how the iPhone will change. It is almost the same as the information first reported, though not quite and there’s more detail to be had. It also slightly updates the figures Young had previously released.
Two similar rumors do not make them the truth, of course, but they add to the likelihood, especially when both come from heavyweight players. There’s another update from Young. He says that the new shape and size will be restricted to the Pro models next year, but it’s expected that the bigger sizes and narrower shape will filter down to the iPhone 17 from 2025. This seems to be becoming a regular thing for Apple.
But next year, it seems, the design of the iPhone will change, by “a couple tenths of an inch diagonally”, so the screen sizes would increase by 0.2 inches, that is, to 6.3 inches for the iPhone 16 Pro and 6.9 inches on the iPhone 16 Pro Max.
