A man died due to a medical issue after being arrested Wednesday at the Anchorage Correctional Complex, according to Anchorage Police.
ANCHORAGE, Alaska -
APD says they took the man into custody after he was seen vandalizing the Alaska Backpackers Inn building on Eagle Street and nearby parked vehicles. Officers arrested the man after he ran into the woods, and took him to be booked at the jail for Criminal Mischief in the third degree.Officers and medics began performing CPR and lifesaving measures on the man, including administering Narcan, until he was ultimately declared dead, according to police.The name of the man has not yet been released.
